Our first Full Moon of the year finds the King and Queen of the sky the Sun and Moon in direct communication with one another with Venus, Sun, Saturn and Jupiter all giving the Moon their counsel. In contrast to the New Moon we had in December this Full moon is asking what do we really believe?

The Moon is reaching her peak of fullness in sign of Gemini in the grip of the fiery red Nakshatra of Ardra, the territory of Shiva.

Directly opposite to the Moon is the Sun, Venus and Saturn all in Sagittarius. Jupiter joins in the conversation with its 10th aspect from the sign Libra .

The Moon representing our emotions and mind is soaking up the energy of Gemini colouring her with intellect, flexibility and humour as we examine our beliefs, our biases and perceptions.

We are calling from our deep unconscious to heal divisiveness and contention within us making sure we remove the obstacles as we start to shift into higher frequencies that the New Year will bring us.

With the starvation of Venus by the Sun and the influence of Saturn we begin to think critically about our relationships, associations and where we spend our time and resources. Ultimately bringing in new understanding, creating healthy boundaries and creating new pathways in how we more effectively navigate our relations.

Ardra is an intense star that releases a rainstorm held within our hearts and mind that is ultimately renewing and refreshing  us like a storm.  It gives us the skill to hunt and seek what calls us and touches at the core of our being and find that which provides us true nourishment.

Ardra is a fearless and courageous star facilitating  an opening to an emotional clearing in order to see more clearly and challenge old thought, old patterns and  the dogma that was raised from the December New Moon.

The power of effort is great intesefied with these planetary influences when harness it to open our awareness to a greater understanding of who we are and where we are meant to be. Yet controlling our anger and frustration and finding the appropriate release is one of the keys of its lessons.

Summary

The Universe is ready to make our highest visions come true as long as we clear the way and make room for them.

May we touch earth and the stars to discover our stillness and truth. Releasing unnecessary chatter, so that we may we drop into our hearts and our higher minds and find the magical place where heaven and earth collide.

If you are lucky and have a clear sky look up on the evening of the Full Moon next to her is the bright red star Ardra Shiva’s abode known to astronomers as Betelgeuse.

This is our first of two Full Moons in the month of January. It is a busy, busy month. Take good care and I send you a lot of luck and love

Meditation for the Month

Mandhavani Kriya: Mantra to Clear Blocks

Posture: Sit in a comfortable cross-legged position with a straight spine and repeat 3 times Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo before beginning the exercise.

Mudra: Bring the hands in front of the throat, forearms paraIlel to the ground. The left hand is palm down; the palm is flat and the fingers point to the right. Extend the left thumb toward the throat. Bring the right thumb between the left thumb and index finger, placing it in the center of the left palm and allow the fingers of the right hand to rest on the back of the left hand. Lock the right thumb in place and apply firm pressure on the left palm. Hold the position at the level of the throat about six inches in front of the body.

Eyes: Closed

Mantra: Aad Sach, Jugaad Sach, Hai Bhay Sach, Naanak Hosee Bhay Sach

Breath: Inhale deeply and completely exhale as the mantra is chanted in a monotone.  Inhale and continue. This mantra is from the 17th Ashtapadi of Sukhmani Sahib and was given by Baba Siri Chand

Time: 31 minutes.

Be sure to keep the arms parallel to the ground. The key to this meditation is locking the right thumb and keeping firm pressure on the center of the left hand. Your thumb may become sore after a while but be strong and don’t give an inch.

May the long time sunshine upon you all love surround you and the pure light within you guide your way on, Sat Nam
