Virgo is a very worldly sign, it is the churning point of the chart. Looking at the chart from the eclipse point of view we have the loss of pleasure and comfort with Venus in the 12th from the eclipse, and the gain of Mars and Ketu in the 2nd, tension aggression and territory. Mercury the lord of Virgo is caught in the eclipse and Ketu at °0 of Libra brings Venus the lord more prominently into the mix.
The area spanning Libra and Virgo is the place of deep desire. It’s where a lot of violence takes place in the name of commerce and conquering. Ruled by the two Raja Guna planets, Mercury and Venus. It represents the desire of the world, what everybody wants to possess and control. To trade, exchange, create, to look good, show the world we look good.

Historically Ketu marching between these two signs there is the breaking of alliances and the forming of new ones. For example, Nato was formed while Ketu was in Libra. Ketu moving through Saggitarius and Scorpio brings big changes as well but creates ones that are more in public view…. From Libra to Virgo is where we need to pay attention, it’s the formation of new agreements for economic benefit.
The Eclipse on October 24th occurring in the natural 6th house of enemies, debt, struggles and illness. It indicates a churning in the agreements between nations and a difficult road ahead. War and financial crisis/gain go hand in hand at the expense of human life and suffering.
For us on a mundane level, the eclipse cycle opens our eyes through the lens of Virgo which is also the natural house of service and the merit gained by taking the focus off of ourselves and our own UNIverse. Service is a big remedy for us all to step out of our desire to create and dominate at the expense of another. Chitra Nakshatra longs to be free and this is realised by bringing something for the greater good into the world.
Eclipses are like an aperture of a lens that heightens and sharpens our awareness. The blinking of an eye to gain a new view. The question is what is the ‘’architect of your UNIverse’’ creating? What are we serving and what are we creating? Ketu is the feet leading us ……… pay attention Ketu is the unconscious and in many ways is the memory we store in the body, what feels familiar but may need to be liberated.
Rahu and Ketu the eclipse makers are markers of change, they shake us to wake us up. Rahu and Ketu challenge an established authority. Not to be feared, but they do close and open chapters……. ready or not.
